Calculation of a PT-diagram with the CSvdW equation of state


On this page you can run a program which calculates PT projections of binary phase diagrams with the Carnahan-Starling-van der Waals equation of state. The program calculates the vapour pressure curves of both substances and the binary critical lines. All you have to do is to enter the values for the global parameters below and click the calculate button below.

The range of the parameters is [-1,+1]. The diagram below may help choosing the two parameters. Get some interesting sets of global parameters.

Be patient after starting the calculation. It may take 3 minutes or more until the result is on the screen. In order to speed up the calculation the binary critical points are calclated in 50 steps of the mole fraction only. Usually 200 and more mole fraction steps are calculated.

If you get the message document contains no data the calculation is still running but the browser is not patient enough to wait for the results. In this case you go directly to the result-page and press the RELOAD button until you get the new results.
